1. Introduction

PoolBoi respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use our pool and spa maintenance assistant.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• •Account information: email address when you sign up.
• •Pool and spa profiles: name, volume (gallons), surface material, pool type (chlorine, salt, bromine), and pool status.
• •Water chemistry test results: chemical parameter readings you enter manually or via test strip image.
• •Test strip photos uploaded for AI analysis.
• •Maintenance task history and completion records.
• •Salt level readings and shock history.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

• •Device information (IP address, browser type, operating system).
• •Session authentication tokens managed by Supabase.
• •Push notification subscription tokens (if you enable push notifications).

3. AI Provider Disclosure

PoolBoi uses AI language models and vision models to analyze your pool chemistry and provide maintenance recommendations. When you submit a test for analysis, the following data is transmitted to our AI provider(s):

• •Your pool profile: volume, surface material, pool type, and category.
• •Water chemistry values (from sliders or test strip image).
• •Test strip photos (if provided).
• •Existing maintenance tasks (to avoid creating duplicate tasks).
• •Seasonal and date context.

Our current AI provider(s) include Google (Gemini), Anthropic (Claude), and Groq. Data sent to these providers is subject to their respective privacy policies. We do not send data to AI providers for purposes other than generating your pool analysis.

Analysis results and test history are stored in our database (Supabase/Postgres) associated with your account. You may delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes all stored data.

4. Camera and Image Access

PoolBoi requests access to your device camera solely to capture pool test strip photos for AI analysis. We do not access your camera roll or photo library. Photos captured through the app are transmitted to our AI provider for analysis and stored in our database as part of your test history. We do not use images for any other purpose.

5. Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we store a push subscription token associated with your account on our servers. This token is used solely to deliver maintenance reminders you have opted into (such as shock reminders or pump filter alerts). You can disable push notifications at any time from the Settings page or your device's notification settings, which will remove your token from our servers.

6. How We Use Your Information

• •Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• •Authenticate your account and secure your data.
• •Generate AI-powered pool chemistry analysis and recommendations.
• •Calculate chemical dosages and maintenance schedules.
• •Deliver push notification reminders you have opted into.
• •Store your test history so you can track changes over time.
• •Comply with legal obligations.

7. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share your data only in these circumstances:

• •Service Providers: Supabase (database and authentication), Google/Anthropic/Groq (AI analysis), and Vercel (hosting). These providers process data only as necessary to deliver the Service.
• •Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or valid legal process.
• •Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction, with notice provided to you.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical safeguards to protect your data, including TLS encryption for all data in transit, row-level security (RLS) policies in our database ensuring each user can only access their own data, and secure authentication via Supabase. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Data Retention

We retain your account data, pool profiles, test history, and maintenance records for as long as your account remains active. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page, which permanently removes all associated data from our database. Push notification tokens are removed when you opt out of notifications or delete your account.

You have the right to:

• •Opt out of push notifications at any time.

11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to know whether it is sold or disclosed (we do not sell personal information), the right to request deletion, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. 12. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser cookies for authentication session management via Supabase. We use browser local storage to save your notification preferences and app settings. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

13. Children's Privacy

PoolBoi is intended for use by adults managing their own pool or spa. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at poolboisupport@gmail.com.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
